Darla Rewers, DVM
There is a tangible link between the symptoms we see in animals and the people they live with. At her Seattle clinic, Dr. Darla Rewers not only treats animals, but also helps their caretakers discover their part in the wellness process.
A licensed veterinarian in Washington and California, Dr. Rewers is certified in veterinary acupuncture, tui na massage, and Chinese herbs, and has been practicing alternative therapies on domestic and exotic species since 2002. She is a 2002 graduate of University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine, where she was accepted as one of only ten out-of-state students amongst thousands of applicants. She earned her acupuncture certifications from the Chi Institute (Reddick, Florida with Dr. Huisheng Xie) and the American Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (Seattle, WA with Dr. Richard Panzer).
After practicing at very busy clinics in Florida, Dr. Rewers moved to the Greater Puget Sound Area in 2005. She moved Ancient Arts Holistic Veterinary Services to its current location in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle in July 2008.
Dr. Rewers uses acupuncture, Chinese herbs, massage, nutrition, and other gentle healing modalities to create an overall natural treatment plan for your pet. She also teaches Qi Gong meditation and art intentionality workshops to humans to help themselves and their pets.
Schedule an appointment to have your pet evaluated for acupuncture or other holistic wellness options. Lisa K Reising DVM, CVCH
My practice is based on loving kindness and compassion, emphasizing the bond between animals and humans. I specialize in individualized treatments for cats and dogs consistent with their innate capacity to heal.
I graduated from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. I soon realized my passion for helping animals resonated with Integrative Veterinary Medicine where I could manage chronic, recurrent and unresponsive western medical cases more successfully. In 2003, I completed post-doctoral education with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. Since then I have continued my Chinese herbal and acupuncture education through Chi University in Florida.
My practice is dedicated to the synthesis of Traditional and Western Medicines utilizing Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Food Therapy and Homeopathy to assist in the patient's greatest well-being.
I believe in preventative medicine for animals with proper nutrition and exercise as the basis for optimal health. I enjoy educating animal lovers on a wide range of topics to help them maintain healthy animal companions in mind, body, and spirit.

Dr. Fred Chard - Chiropractic
Dr. Chard received his DC degree from Western States Chiropractic, Portland,
Oregon in 1977, and moved to Hawaii to start his practice. While in chiropractic
practice there, he also attended the Amerasian Acupuncture Institute in Honolulu,
Hawaii. Dr. Chard then moved to Washington, and worked with a holistic veterinarian in
Renton from 1989 to 2001.
In 2005, Dr. Chard was awarded his national certification in
non-needle ear acupuncture by the Auriculo Therapy Institute of Los Angeles,
California. Dr. Chard is a contributing author to the textbook, “Acutonics, There’s No
Place Like Ohm”. His chapters include alternative treatments for large and small
animals.
Chiropractic therapy helps dogs and cats with many back problems and other health
challenges. Like humans, dogs and cats also have spines which are composed of small
bones called “vertebrae”. Their tails are composed of vertebrae as well. Typical injuries
Dr. Chard treats for dogs include slipping on wet grass, jumping too high, stepping in a
hole, dog fights, or overall loss of movement due to aging. Also, certain dog breeds
tend to get muscle tension which can pull on their limbs or spine and thus make them
more prone to injury. Typical injuries Dr. Chard treats for cats include falls while
jumping, neck injuries, tail injuries, and cat fights.
Dr. Chard has been working with the Animal Healing Center since 2006, and joined Ancient Arts in December 2022.
