Meet the Staff

Exploring the animal kingdom has always been one of Meleah’s primary goals. That goal has been achieved thus far through seeking variety in her pets, in her work and education, and in her experiences in the great outdoors.
Volunteering at animal shelters, horse rescues, and wildlife rehabilitation centers have given Meleah the opportunity to experience the care, temperament, and medical needs of many different animals. From earning the trust of abused horses, to bottle feeding baby raccoons, her passion and knowledge has continued to grow. Earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Zoology has given her valuable knowledge with a scientific approach to how animals bodies and minds work.
Life is about exploring your passions, which Meleah does by exploring new facets of the animal care industry, currently she is learning more about a holistic lifestyle through her job here at Ancient Arts. She also loves to explore nature via horseback riding, kayaking, hiking, and hopefully one day scuba diving. Meleah is currently the proud owner/co-owner of Levi (a rescued Arabian horse), Captain (an adorable Dalmatian puppy), Frankie (a rescued Bearded Dragon), and Loki (a 9yr old German Short-haired pointer).

Four-Legged Staff
Raynie
Raynie is a 4-year-old Australian Shepherd, Border Collie, and Newfoundland rescue who was adopted by Dr. Rewers.
She loves greeting people with a friendly bark and wagging tail. Raynie has met many animals, including sharing her own home and yard with Dr. Rewers' other pets: Sam the dog, Zenke and Kingman the kitties, plus two chickens and some rabbits. |
Sam

Sam is the newest member of the Ancient Arts family! Dr. Rewers adopted Sam as a puppy when her previous caretakers needed to find Sam a new home.
She is a Lab mix with a lot of curiosity, occasional shyness and plenty of love to give! Raynie and Sam are best friends.

Sophi (Rest in Peace)

Sophi was a 17.5 year old Australian Shepherd Mix, and a testament to the health benefits of acupuncture. Although she had some chronic health issues throughout her life, all were managed effectively through holistic means. Check out her video at age 11 enjoying the outdoors here.
Rest in peace, Nurse Sophi. Thank you for your years of service!
